Hilary is a versatile Toronto-based actor, singer, and musician originally from Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She is known for her physical comedy, grounded emotional vulnerability, and commanding presence. For the short film Sound of Space, a reviewer highlighted: “Hart demonstrates a rare vulnerability as she maintains a motherly nature but also exhibits the strength of a soldier, spotlighting the fortitude women hold.”
An alumna of the Randolph College for the Performing Arts, Hilary performed for professional theatre companies including Magnus Theatre’s Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash where a reviewer praised: “Hart’s tremendous vocal prowess is matched by her fluid dexterity on a number of instruments.” Hilary embodied June Carter Cash while singing, dancing, and playing multiple instruments including guitar, piano, accordion, ukulele, and trumpet.
Hilary is a prolific creator and producer. As the founder of Cackle Comedy Productions, she wrote, directed, and starred in dozens of digital shorts. Her film Witchcraft Wednesday, about four suburban moms’ secret weekly meetup, captured the Audience Choice Award at The Great Canadian Comedy Film Festival.
A dedicated student of the craft, Hilary polishes her technique with in-person scene study classes at RAW Actor Studio and she learned five distinct dialects via The Accent Challenge with dialect coach Holly Renaut. Hilary’s training in clown workshops and Second City improv has equipped her with a unique physical vocabulary and an instinctive command of comedic timing.
Hilary has served as a Music Director at Second City where she co-taught musical comedy classes. She’s an in-demand Music Director for improv and musical comedy shows in the GTA.
When she’s not on set or stage, she serves the children and youth at the charitable organization Dixon Hall Music School, providing affordable music education and community engagement.
A proud mother to a brilliant and outgoing son, Hilary credits her family for the renewed perspective and fortitude she brings to her craft.
